Think. React. Disengage....
"grow up!" -gosh i've been hearing those words for far too long and as i can vaguely remember the last time i heard those words, i reacted. in a weird way of course! some would argue it was negative right down to hell but as far as i can remember, it was perfectly normal- just like what a normal 19 year old boy will do- induce a self-inebriation, metaphorically. back then, it was the best way out of it, the perfect way, the only way to avoid such statement that renders our ability to actually perform the irony itself, to run away, to simply hide behind the very simple fact that we're made to repel, to be rebellious and to oppose what we're told to do/not to do. after all, rules/orders were meant to be broken/disobeyed. as of this moment, im nearly 20 and wasted a great deal of my life and if i still have these thoughts in my mind right now, im going nowhere. so much for living credits and awesome high school reports! i've tried. and i'm exhausted beyond any living soul's tolerance. i understand the logics, i do. giving up aint doing any good, but thats just for starters. to me, giving up is merely like having a break while others fight their heart out. a break for us to redeem ourselves and learn our enemies weaknesses and an excuse for us to later take a jump at them and chew their necks off while we watch our comrades bleed to death and grin. thats what giving up to me means. a break! from the rat race. the rush. the global-im-there-you're-not-there-yet thing going on right now. to be perfectly honest, i dont really care coz no one should. whats the point of reaching there first when at the end of the day, we're all be there, regardless of how hard we tried, we fight our way there. its true that the end is not that important. but remember this, the journey isnt so important after all and in fact, its the start is the most important of it all. argue with me, we all have starts. we started off the same? wrong. we choose where we start. there's always a time where we make amends for someone we left out, we make resolutions, we plan ahead, we sacrifice a lil bit, but there's always a moment where we sit down, take a sip and let others do the work. now at that precise moment, at that blink of an eye, at that time, is our start. where everything else stops. because, giving up/having a break/chilling/disengaging is our start. start to end something so that we can start something new...a brand new end

BoiKat
...Mood : Exhausted
...Currently reading : A thousand splendid suns, Khaled Hosseini
...Listening to : Work, Jimmy Eat World
I first met BK some 98 nights ago in a mamak stall. The sky was dark, drizzling and on a sub-overcast very early dawn and we were there not because we woke up early -its because we still not willing to go to sleep yet- and at that precise moment, cigarettes smokes filled the air as the breeze from the other side fighting so hard to dominate the atmosphere but to no avail, like duh. The chatting cum swearing cum talking-cock-loudly can be heard clearly as there were only a few people around so basically every noise made can be heard from every corner of the place. I was just there chilling with a friend after a couple of cc sessions when all of a sudden, BK walked up right to me and our eyes met for the first time.
For those of you who knew me personally, BK somehow looked through me with just a glance and momentarily, I saw myself in someone else's body! I just adored how he looks like he's begging for attention effortlessly, this self-perseverance is really really something reminded me of myself of how I used to be. They way he asked for attention and the smug on his face when I gave him some is just something I longed to witness for too long. Something I would label as a wishful thinking prior to this meeting with BK. Heck!
A cloud of cigarette smoke from 3 tables behind startled me as I was too overwhelmed by the presence of BK. I looked back and gave them a glare to which they simply don't give a fuck.
I turned around and took out my cellphone and contemplated about taking a picture of BK, although it somehow seems inappropriate before I hit the shutter anyway and butterflies roared inside my tummy.
And after 98 days later, I just got back from a 8-hour long journey from Sg Petani, Kedah all the way down to Johor and looking back at the picture of BK sparked a smile on my face. Im chuckling right now as I am writing this :)
Although I never saw him again after that, the meeting with him made me realised that sometimes life fuck us all over, smile as wide as you can because at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. "Work and play they're never okay", Jimmy Eat World

Rat stuck in cracked pavement
It was a pitiful sight, as the locals came across this unfortunate rat stuck between the crack pavement on the streets of New York City one fine morning. The rat apparently roamed the underground conduit during the days and while resurfacing to the streets, its lower body was stuck at the small opening of the crack.
The picture taken by the locals however causes much stir on the web as creative minds came up with numerous ideas of photo-shopping the picture into brilliant works of art! Below are some examples obtained from the web. Enjoy!

Facts I learned from the TV
Okay here are the facts :
On average, a growing child (aged 4-12) spends 2-4 hours a day in front of the tube. That's almost 11680 hours spent in front of the box when the child reaches the age of 12. Researcher also deduced that every hour spent in front of the tv puts a child 5 words behind a total tv-free growing child! Shit! I watched loads of tv when I was young. So in total, I'm almost 60k words behind my fellow friends who grew up without watching any tv! Now how the hell I'mma gonna catch up?!
Wait a second here. For almost too long we kept coming across articles supporting the fact that watching tv is bad for kids etc etc... Just exactly how true is that?
Perhaps tv can be educational? I did say perhaps...
Take for an instance, I know that whenever I were to get into a fight which I will be outnumbered badly, I still can take on all of them and kick their asses still as they will come to me one on one, never ever in a group of two or more. Betcha the guy who grew up without tv doesn't know that and instead, will run away and will be chased down, beaten to death!
Also, aliens exists and speak perfect English no matter where they come from! So there next time if I encounter any alien lifeforms, I can actually give directions to them to the nearest Burger King.
By watching tv, I learned that if you are handsome, blond, and at least 6 feet tall, bullets tend to miss you no matter what the circumstances are! There's absolutely no chance for a single bullet from a SMG firing at the speed of 7000 rounds a minute of hitting you! No way in hell. Unfortunately, if you look like a dork, a single bullet from any gun will kill you instantly. Also, it's almost customary for all detectives/police to visit the strip club at least once during the whole course of the movie for information. Then, the club owner will somehow refuse to talk and a few punches to his abdomen will change his mind. Next, any retiring police officer will, at any circumstances die 2-3 days before his retirement! And when the lead detective investigates his death, he will come across secret information found in his safe in his locker.
I'm glad I watched loads of tv when I was young! It might even spare me my life one day. Take for example; if one day a tiger/lion/dinosaur escaped from the zoo and is chasing me, I can always jump into a stalled car and start the engine using keys provided from the glove box/head mirror section/dashboard. If the keys don't work on the first try, don't worry. The car will start just before the tiger/lion/dinosaur reach the rear of the car! It will! The guy who grew up without watching tv definitely doesn't know that! He won't wait for it to start and instead, jump out of the car and finally eaten by the tiger/lion/dinosaur. Cruel...
If I were ever trapped in a building, I can always crawl my way out from the ventilation ducts. They are well connected and the network is just amazing! You can basically go anyway from anyway as long as the ducts are there. This is one of the coolest facts I learned just from watching tv!
Trains and cars don't ever collide. If there's a swam of police cars chasing you, just drive towards the nearest railroad crossing and your car will miss from colliding with the train at high speed by just a mere few inches. The polices cars tailing behind will definitely be left behind. Guess the guy who grew up without tv doesn't know this trick eh? Hahaha
If someone who knows me well enough, has been working with me for quite some time points a gun at my face and pulls the trigger, there's a high chance that the chamber is empty/ the trigger is faulty/ the gun ran out of rounds/ the gun squirt water out instead. Moral of the story; FRIENDS CAN'T KILL YOU! No matter how hard they try. Apparently God doesn't allow that. The guy who grew up without tv will shit in his pants the second the gun clicks and die of heart attack.
I can always jump through fences easily as there will always be empty boxes to ease my jumpings. No shit!
After all that, I conclude that watching tv can be educational. If you know what to learn and what not to....
Here's one quick one not to; don't ever learn anything from Lost!
The producer/director/crew members are so lost that when they are at the set to film the next scene, one of the crew members ask the director, "Where are we going today? What's for today?"
The director replies, " Let's just continue whatever we left behind and go along with it. We're LOST after all"..

Social media
short talk : i dropped my ipod while running back home when it rained all of a sudden while i was jogging this evening. i traced it back 3 streets from where i realized it was gone and how retarded for me to lose it without noticing the 'lack of music' for a-3-streets-run?!
think social media...think of how much it changed our lifestyle over the years.
take for instance, if i ever needed anything, i'll just msn my friend who stays next door and he'll msn back with the stuffs i need...(whatever happened to the good old days of walking over there and ask?)
take fb for example, i got a friend who doesn't have the balls to talk to random girls at random places and relies on fb to get to know more female friend. (cmon when the hell this will ever works?!). from time to time, he'll add any female contact he came across and starts to engage in 'conversations' and soon, charmed dozen of girls with his 'online personalities' however in the real deal, he's a pussy who doesn't even have the balls to look her in the eye!
and then, there's the story of an employer who fired hi employee via email. unfortunately for the employee, he didnt get the message and went to work as usual the following morning and continued for at least a week until his boss finally realized he's still there and 're-fires' him on the spot.
next, the story of an employer firing his employee on fb via comment on his post where he insulted his former employer openly....owned!
for the past couple of weeks, twitter has been bombarded with tweets concerning #yorais and how fucking funny it was...(like cmon la mr minister are we that shallow for allowing social networking invade our 'moral values'?) LOL
finally, our very own story where a malaysian student who was charged over 'gas bomb hoax' over fb. overhyped by the media, citizens began making own conclusions on how he was involved (directly/indirectly).
also a blogger was charged with sedition act for allegedly insulting the late sultan.....

The five people you meet in heaven
The book
The five people you meet in heaven, Mitch Albom
Short talk
From the author of the number one New York Times bestseller Tuesdays with Morrie comes the long -awaited follow-up, an enchanting, beautifully crafted novel that explores a mystery only heaven can unfold. "All endings are also beginning. We just don't know at the time..."
More talk
Eddie has worked as a maintenance worker in Ruby Pier, an amusement park, his entire life. Ever since he was a teenager, his began helping his old man out in the pier. In fact his whole life pretty much revolve around the park until he even smelled like the ocean. On his 83rd birthday, something went terribly wrong and an accident killed Eddie instantly. He went to heaven and met five different people who either affected his life significantly or because of his actions/ inactions, affected their life tremendously. Only until he met all five of them, he realized that all endings are also beginnings...we just don't know at that time.
My talk
Albom successfully pictured heaven in a way most of us haven't even thought of. A very sad, detailed story of a man who live by everyday's routine and in the end, knowing that how his life affected the other and how others affected his life during his days.
My rating
8/10

The holiday (II)
...listening to: kids, MGMT
okay first things first, i won a pair of tickets to the premier of valentine's day from nuffnang! okay la the truth is that there are 80 pairs of tickets to be given away and from what i know, only a mere 200+ bloggers submitted their entries so all of us stood a significant chance of winning but the feeling after winning something is so surreal. so overwhelming. partly because of the fact i never won anything from countless contests before so yeah, i was pretty much flabbergasted when i noticed the e-mail nuffnang sent to me (:
on a much more disappointing note, i wont be attending the screening after all. its next to impossible for me to drive all the way up to catch a movie on a weekday. having said that, so much for the winning anyway. *heres my winning entry
january came and went just like my blog traffic inconsistencies. anyway, i spent the last couple of weeks working on a list of things i wanna/will do by the end of the year -also known as new year resolutions- but february came too soon! according to some folks, new year resolutions can only be made by the end of the first month so right now, imma think of this as my chinese new year resolutions instead. err i dont even know if theres such a thing but heck, thats what imma talk about - chinese new year resolutions!
firsty, imma give up smoking completely! its not like im hooked or anything, but as of this moment, im really into it. but trust me, i can go months without it without the slightest complications; emotionally unstable, skin rashes, insomnia etc etc... to me its not an addiction. its not a routine. its not something i have to do, but something i feel like doing/wanna do. its something i do when i meet up with my friends and as we catch up with each other, we smoke. thats all. yes i realize all the logics about it; smoking kills etc and thats why imma stop this unhealthyhabit activity of mine.
secondly, imma wanna work harder on my first resolution and see the end of it myself and hopefully not the end watching over me...
for the complete list, please refer back to resolution #2...thank you very much!
guess what, last 3 weeks itself i've read 4 books! thats a brand new record (eeheeeheee) i guess i really need to thank my sister for having me picked up reading from a very tender age. ever since i was a child, i gave up alot of things of what boys my age usually do; get involve in alley fights, arm wrestling, slingshots, soccer etc etc and instead, i preferred to be left alone in my room with a book and a sandwich. by the age of 13, i know more words than any chinese english-educated boy from my school (not to sound boastful or anything but this is the truth). and that my friend, i have my sister to thank for....
but that came with a price too. a big one. by the age of 14, i began showing symptoms of overweight...
and after 235 words, this is my final resolution - drop 20 pounds by the end of 2010!
last weekend was a week of pure disappointment. i learned that i failed some of my papers. and as disappointed as i gets, the more agitated i felt. soon, it wasnt to long before i made my decision to resit my papers. all in the name of proving them wrong; that i was a straight a's student, im still a straight a's student and i will always be! fuck you if you're seriously considering to think otherwise.
i managed to borrow some notes from my friends and imposed a self-grounded session to myself and imma study study study like cock and imma feel good about it. good luck to me? okay enough of this shit.
just last tuesday, i went back to college and registered for my resit papers. along the way, i bought myself a gift; a bottle of ck fragrance
sorry i cant get a good shot of it using my camera but at the same time i dont wanna to ruin a great bottle of shit with a bad shot so i took this from the web instead. LOL
anyway, cny is really around the corner (like literally) and i am really looking forward for it! cant wait! cant wait!
