which reminds me one thing though. a book. not just any other book. this particular one is very distinctive. it's a book of which i read quite some time ago.
tadahh ~

yes, i know all about the controversies that comes along with this book. yes yes i know about the forgery of some of content too. but still, it's a masterpiece! no one can deny it! :) bla bla bla and that too, yea i know all about it.
A Million Little Pieces, written by James Frey is probably one of books that received the most number of feedbacks (positive and negative) from different party, being government bodies and private organizations. regarded as "The War & Piece Of Addiction" by Pat Conroy, it tells the story of a 23-year-old alcoholic and drug abuser (Frey himself) and how he copes with rehabilitation in a Twelve Steps-oriented treatment center. the best part? it's based on Frey's personal experience (or not); being this is his memoir, every single event mentioned were based on his real life stories (or not).
the story revolves around James, 23 who was then, an alcoholic for almost 10 years, a crack addict for 3 and also wanted by the police in 3 different states for several charges. under his own will and advices from his friends, he checks into a rehab clinic and forced to quit his substance abuse. throughout his stay, he refuses to buy into the notion of victimhood, and instead chooses to blame his misfortunes solely on himself and as the results of his own decisions.
the use of stream of consciousness of writing technique by Frey is remarkable! Frey's unique writing skills of capitalizing nouns were done awesomely. :) heh, that's about all the yeays of this book. although its no longer hot on the shelves (being this book was published 6 years ago), i guess you still can get a copy of it from almost anywhere. :)
in the meantime, i'll just sit back and flip through its pages one more time tonight. just a little insight of it makes me sleep better at night. :) all in all, today's saturday. and today is the _______ day of my life!! (insert your word of the day)
